Design for Value
Your high-level path has been charted, but now it’s important to focus on creating a supportive framework for fostering success. Enablement goes beyond technology to focus on supporting the employee experience, focusing on key business use cases and with governance best practices and procedures to provide structure.
Governance – Once you know where you are going and have plans of how to get there, it is important to ensure the supporting processes and guidelines are in place to support your success. Often Governance is overlooked until it is needed and then it might be too late. Ensure your Governance practices and procedures are in place to support the maturation of your digital change initiative.
Employee Experience – Much focus has been placed on the customer experience, and all of this still holds true for your employees. Your employees are often the face of your business to your customers, so their experience is at least as important as the customer experience. Transforming the digital employee experience is a big part of making that change human and the value clearly understood.
Key Use Cases – Identifying and focusing on key business use cases not only focuses efforts on creating benefit for the organisation, but also helps capture success stories to help communicate value. Identified key use cases should be assessed and evaluated periodically to ensure they are still the right focus for the organisation. An eye should be kept out for new business use cases, as they emerge.
